Characterisation and communication of spatial variability in rock mass defects as well as rock matrix properties is important for many mining and civil engineering analyses. Slope stability analysis and drill and blast design are two such analyses that require accurate 3-dimensional characterisation of these parameters. In this paper, we present a new visualisation method using an improved Marching Cubes algorithm to construct 3D surface meshes of rock properties when considering the terrain, void, and factors causing missing or uncertain data. Further, a visualisation algorithm for integrating geophysical data and fracture intensity is presented, including support for the representation of uncertainty in this data. We demonstrate the algorithms using real data.
